All our instruction meets the highest standards for safety. Our instructors use the direct supervision method of instruction. During a dive, the instructor remains no more than 5 meters/15 feet from the student diver, unlike many freediving courses where the instructor remains at the surface as the student dives. Your instructor is certified, insured and uses the proven Performance Freediving curriculum. Charter boats have a USCG licensed captain and crew providing safety and support. You can view all our certifications in our office. Just ask, and we'll review them with you.
When you go for a freediving adventure at Freedive Florida, you become part of our freediving community. We want you to be happy with every part of the experience, from when you sign up to when you meet land again. It's our goal to make sure every moment is the thrill of a lifetime.
Freediving is an adventure that many people add to their "bucket list." When you take a course with us, we're helping you accomplish a goal -- whether it's improving your existing skills, learning new techniques, meeting personal goals, overcoming challenges or just scratching an item off your list. We'll help coach you to achieve your goal, but we'll never pressure you to do something beyond your comfort zone. It's safe to test your limits with us. We'll keep you safe.

Instructor Gaylin Gates was looking for new challenges and experiences for his customers and decided to pursue freediving.
Gaylin attended his first Performance Freediving International course taught by Kirk Kraak and Mandy-Rae Cruikshank in 2007 and was hooked. "After 32 years as a scuba diver, most of it as an instructor, I was humbled at how much I had to learn about freediving. Most of all, I was amazed by the PFI curriculum and instructional technique. The safety protocol we use is fantastic."Gaylin has been a certified Performance Freediving Instructor since 2010.
